School Council
School Council, started in September 2000, comprises of two representatives from each class, a staff rep. and a chairperson. Elections took place in week 2 of the Autumn term and subsequent elections will be held in week 2 of the Winter and Summer term.

The School Council was established as a means to give the children a voice in how the school is organised and an opportunity to make changes in areas they feel do not work. They have a small budget to spend in the way they think is best, but can raise money by schemes of their own. There are Class Council meetings each week, where class reps. can report back and where all children in the school can make suggestions on issues to be raised at the next meeting.

School Council meetings take place on Friday mornings between 11:00 and 12:00. There is a set agenda including class proposals. The class reps discuss each issue and then vote on possible solutions. Issues raised so far include; messy toilets, trouble in the dinner hall and year 3's not passing in football. The School Council has also decided on which charity the school will support at Christmas and, in the spirit of all those who have power, has voted itself some rather nice badges so everyone knows who they are!
