School
Council Decisions
2001
-
We have raised £65 for new playground equipment by selling toys.
We are planning to raise more money this term.
- We
have a list of year 3 Toilet Guards who make sure that the toilets
are kept clean at dinnertime.
- Each
class now lines up after dinner to stop the smaller children getting
hurt.
- We
have arranged for a small football pitch to be marked out for
the Reception and year 1 children to play on so that they don't
get hurt and they can have more fun.
- We
are ordering badges for the School Council that they will keep
after they have left.
- We
have arranged to have the school painted and to have coloured
shapes and rainbows in the hall.
- We
have got more chairs for the hall so that all the year 3's can
have a chair during assembly time.
- We
visited County Hall to meet John Shepherd and have our council
meeting in the Council Chamber. We have been on television, radio
and 2 newspapers.
- We
have been back to County Hall to watch their Council Meeting.
- We
are going to have Playground Angels from each class who will make
sure that everyone has someone to play with and help sort out
arguments.
2002
- We
raised another £5,000 from The Town Close Trust and Thomas
Anguish Trust and bought the new playground equipment.
- The
football committee did a sponsored sports day to raise money for
new bibs and footballs.
- We
put up signs around the school to stop people running.

We met with the dinner ladies and organised red and green flags
to go in the dinner hall to replace the whistle.
- We
raised money for Crisis at Christmas again.
2003
- We
have agreed a list of behaviours, which will considered as disruptive
to council meetings.
- We
are organising a friendship bench to go in the playground.
- The
Environment Committee have written up an action plan for the Bronze
eco-award.
- The
Football Committee are raising money to buy new goals.
- The
Charities Committee have written to Snelling TV to try and get
a TV and Video.

The School Council are organising a scruffy hair day for comic
relief.

We organised a “weakest-link” game for the teachers.
2004
We have bought new football goals & sandbags.
- We
have continued working towards a Silver eco-award.
- The
Playground Committee has bought a friendship bench.
- Snelling
TV have donated a TV & video.
- The
Charities Committee has organised a fruit fun day.
- The
Football Committee has trained a number of children to be referees.
The new refs have been issued with red and yellow cards and whistles.
- Chalk
and new playground equipment has been bought by the school council.
