Autumn
1999 - Reception
We
read the story of Angry Arthur and during the following discussion
talked about anger and how it made us feel.
The
learning objective was to write a class poem to express how
anger made us feel. Child D was suffering severe emotional
trauma from a domestic situation over which he had no influence
or control. He found it very difficult to articulate how he
felt but with the support, sensitivity and creativity of all
the other children in the class he was able to play a major
part in achieving the objective. I have written their poem
below:
|
Hair
messy, hot, sticky
Eyes red and dark and crying
Brows go down, feet stamping
Face red, my teeth snapping
Hands squeezing making fists
Tummy aching, rumbling, hurting
Feeling sick I feel horrible when I'm angry.
