Junior Poetry Workshop Here are some of the poems from the Junior Poetry Workshop, March 2006.
The crashing of the sea waves,
The squawk of the birds singing,
The smoothness of the shiny pebbles,
The essence of the sweet smelling flowers,
The tingle of lemon sorbets,
The squidginess of sand between my toes.
Lauren, Year 4
The snow is dripping,
Just coming from the sky,
Landing on the ground silently,
So Small.
At first it is tiny,
Then it covers the ground,
So now you can make
Snowmen, snowballs, anything you like.
Snow is like sugar on a cake,
White and fluffy,
Going everywhere,
But making no noise.
But then the sun comes out,
Melting the snow,
So now the ground is empty
Until the next year.
Abigail, Year 4
Finger biters,
Human smellers,
Wheel spinners
Shy creatures,
Good hiders,
Fast runners.
