Junior school children participated in a Poetry Workshop run by the poet, Ros Barber at Saxon Way Primary School.
Here are some of the poems from the Junior Poetry Workshop.
Christmas
Church bells ringing loud and clear
Happy children singing for all to hear
Roasting turkey fills the air
Icicles glistening in snowy glare
Santa bringing gifts and toys
Trees with presents for girls and boys
Mary gave birth to the new born King
Angels and wise men travelled far for him
MERRY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL!

If I Were Smog
If I were smog
I would wear a blanket of grey clouds
I would make it impossible to see
I would make no one visible
Then, in time I would pass to another place
To worry another town, and there I would stay weeks
Causing car crashes and shops and schools to close
Because that is what I do
I worry the world, smog that’s me, mischievous smog is me
