Through the Time Tunnel
This year 23 pupils from the Excellence Cluster’s primary and secondary schools attended a 10-day summer school at Chatham Grammar School for Girls. Dr Andrew Webber and his staff of helpers provided an exciting programme of activities and workshops with the aim of creating an audiovisual presentation at the end.
The students wrote their own radio play called “Through the Time Tunnel” in which a group of school children were given a book of mirrors that transported them into different periods of time; 1940’s war time, the Jurassic period, the Victorian era, the 1960’s and the future. They read and recorded their play on CD and provided background sound effects, music and computer-generated pictures and visual effects. They all had great fun and agreed that it was a really exciting project to do.
