Learning Mentors attend Children’s Workforce Development CWDC training in June/July 2007
The course looks at the theoretical framework of LOSS and GRIEF and explores children’s grief from a developmental perspective, particularly in terms of Attachment Theory. The day will be a mixture of workshop experience and information sharing.
The course uses new materials designed by the Childhood Bereavement Network, the University of Leicester and Leicester Sure Start and is aimed to offer practical help for those working with young children when a child has been bereaved. No prior training or specialist knowledge of bereavement issues is required.
Over the 3 days, through an experiential teaching method, you will explore the use of sub-personalities through the use of metaphor. We will explore ways in which story metaphor can be used to explore and process difficult feelings in emotionally anxious children.
